Holidae

Ashley Gold, the writer and vocalist for Holidae, created Royalty as an outlet and a reminder of her self-worth. It was about choosing to walk away from an abusive relationship and the hard work it would take to become whole again. When scouting locations, I looked for areas that were vast to match the loneliness in the lyrics and the tone of the song. Finding Kanami Nakabayashi was the final key to this project. She transitioned from smooth to erratic seamlessly and was able to exemplify the despair, hopefulness and fight for independence found in the song.
