Caught Up in the Fantasy

Ashley Gold, the writer and vocalist for Holidae, created Royalty as both an outlet and a reminder of her self worth. It’s a song about walking away from an abusive relationship and the hard work that follows.

When scouting locations, I searched for wide open spaces. We felt it worked nice with the loneliness of the song. Finding Kanami Nakabayashi was the final piece. Her ability to move from smooth to erratic brought everything together, capturing the fight for independence and a new beginning.
